With FIPR funding, GIW conducted pump and pipeline studies on a variety of phosphate industry slurries ranging from dilute waste clay through conventional tailings to high concentration ore. The project uncovered methods for achieving significant energy savings for solids transport pumping and ways to reduce capital and maintenance costs.

This web course captures the major findings of the FIPR projects, builds on GIW's industry and training experiences, and provides useful guidelines and tools for increasing pumping efficiency. Whether you are a mine manager or engineer, a pump designer or operator, or a maintenance technician, this web course will sharpen your skills, improve your technical competency, and help you increase your company's bottom line.

This course consists of six different slurry pumping modules.  Click here to view an outline.  The fee for this course is $1600 US currency (Visa, Master Card, or Discover accepted).  For Professional Engineers seeking Professional Development Hours you must complete all modules (6 hours) and answer 40 or more questions correctly on the quiz.  The quiz is mandatory to receive the hours and you will be given two chances to take the quiz to receive the passing grade.  The Professional Development Hours will be submitted for Florida Professional Engineers after all requirements have been met.  If you are a Professional Engineer outside the state of Florida, please contact us and we will send you a course information packet that includes your documented hours and quiz score so that you may request hours from your state licensing board.  However, we cannot guarantee that your state will accept this course for your required hours.
